mca roadshow : san francisco

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love tradition. Several years back, the photographers started coming into town to attend the APA Something Personal Exhibition and Holiday Party, which included a meeting here and a meeting there. Last year we decided to take advantage of having all the photographers in one place and had our first ever inaugural MCA Family Dinner. (To read the story, go here). This year, the meetings evolved into a full-on MCA Roadshow, with visits to Apple, AKQA, SterlingBrands/Philippe Becker Design, Goodby Silverstein & Partners, Butler, Shine, Stern & Partners, Swirl, Heat, and Eleven Inc. It was great fun connecting with our amazing San Francisco community, and boy did we feed them well with Dynamo donuts, Tacolicious and lots of wine, cheese and brownies.

When I was putting together the week and planning our 1st Annual (that would be 2nd year) MCA Family Dinner, I decided to call Vanessa, our new NY associate to see if she could fly in from NYC to join me, Quinci and our 7 photographers for the dinner. It was spectacular. We had a beautiful private dining room and an off-the-charts 5 course dinner. Since last year’s dinner commenced with a game, being the traditionalist I am this year I had to follow suit with a game entitled,  How Well Do You Know Your MCA Agents?  It was a total blast, and involved some serious strategy, a little bit of cheating, high pressure and lots and lots of laughter. While there was a winner and a loser, I’m not sure I should share that information as we love all of our photographers equally, regardless of how they scored.

The week culminated with the great APA party, hosted by LeftSpace and beautifully produced by Dakota Chase. Thank you to our amazing MCA family for a fabulous week. We are so very lucky.
