michael lamotte: a wine waterfall in motion for hewitt vineyard

Michael Lamotte recently shot the brand video for famed Hewitt Vineyard of Rutherford, California. Hired by ELEMENTAL: IDEAS AND DESIGN, the goal of the video was to create a sensory experience of Hewitt’s highly acclaimed Cabernet.

The brief called for Michael to create a “flavor tunnel” and a “wine waterfall” to take the viewer inside the depths of the award-winning wine, it’s rich palette and viscous legs. The concepts were beautifully executed by Michael and his top team, key to any highly technical production:

Angela Gutierrez Bortugno/Sr. Brand Manager of Diageo Chateau & Estate Wines

Elizabeth Hecker/Art Director ELEMENTAL DESIGN AND IDEAS

Luke Goodman/Editor

Amy Nathan/Food Stylist

Sara Slavin/Prop Stylist

Thank you to Angela and Liz for the opportunity to work together again, the process is always fun and very rewarding (and mouth-watering, of course).

rj muna inspires kat von d

Where does Los Angeles tattoo artist Kat Von D find inspiration? Well from RJ Muna, of course. Kat Von D, artist, model, musician and star of reality show LA Ink recently posted a series of photos of herself sketching one of RJ’s images of model Page Ruth. Pretty cool. We can’t wait to see the finished piece.

update: new york

In July we told you about the newest member of the MCA family, Vanessa McGarry. (If you missed that post, click here.) She fits in so well, it is hard to imagine she hasn’t always been with us. Vanessa has been making the rounds in New York and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Thank you Vanessa, we’re so glad you’re on board. And thanks Jim, for the photos from today’s portfolio show.

PS – Check out Vanessa’s jewelry site, Leonessa

jamie kripke motion for 1st bank: follow your dreams

Jamie Kripke shot a three-part motion campaign for 1stBank with agency TDA Boulder. The campaign, aimed at people who need loans to either start or grow their business, features interviews with older people waxing poetic about their lives.

The first in the “Follow Your Dreams” series features Eugene O. Bass, age 84. He started playing the drums when he was 12, and never stopped.

“It was nice to work with smart creatives, and also great that a bank was up for this kind of work. It doesn’t feel commercial at all, which I love.” added Jamie.

If this first motion piece with its undeniably authentic feel is any indication, we can’t wait to see the rest. Thank you TDA.
