family portrait by rj muna

When a design guru like Michael Rylander blogs about your family photo, I guess it gives me permission to also post it! I acknowledge that this is certainly no ordinary family portrait and I am eternally grateful to RJ Muna for so gracefully capturing us in his beautiful, inimitable style.

Jim Salzano, Art Producer Robin Daily and Art Director Charlie Orr of  The CementBloc, and the cast and crew pose for a group shot. Inclement New York weather didn’t stop them from pulling off a great shoot!

christine alicino shoots for lastacaft

2010 ended with a flurry of great assignments, one of which was this series of ads for allergy medication, Lastacaft. Christine Alicino shot the beautiful portraits and flowers at LeftSpace Studios with wonderful styling and hair and makeup by Micah Bishop and Renee Rael. Blackwell Files provided the talent, and G~10 handled the post production. To top it off, we got to work with one of our favorite art buyers, Shannon Wright.

In honor of Martin Luther King’s birthday, we want to share this commercial Jim Salzano shot for Macy’s. The spot, airing now, was shot on the Red Camera.

jim salzano talks about shooting director peter sellars…

I was lucky enough to be invited to Director Peter Sellars home in LA to shoot him for the cover of Opera News Magazine. I called him from NY to go over the details and assured him we could get everything done in the 3-4 hour time period he had available. When I arrived at his home Peter greeted my assistant and I with a hug and it just kept getting better. Whatever I suggested he couldn’t have been more excited and eager to do. We set up in his living room for the “studio” portrait and also shot him in his roof cactus garden and his office. The tight shot was my favorite and became the February cover.
